Project Xcess

30,000 kilograms of unwanted and blemished produce are thrown away daily just from a single wholesale center. Yet, our beneficiaries are facing nutrition deficiency due to the regular intake of instant meals and preserved food.

The Food Bank Singapore (FBSG) has launched Project Xcess, a campaign to highlight the large volume of food that Singapore has been dumping due to cosmetic filtering.

The inaugural Project Xcess will feature Singapore’s first cooking competition by challenging participants to whip up dishes using ugly and close to expiry food that would have been unconsumed. Through this campaign, FBSG hopes to share recipes and tips on preparing nutritious and wholesome meals even with a shoestring budget.

Give the less fortunate access to the excess!
